HVCBA Criteria 11 - Reverse

Are you preparing a Medium Rigid, Heavy Rigid, or Heavy Combination licence assessment?  The following may assist you to prepare:

Heavy Rigid Driver required in Wetherill Park

A client of ours has asked us to keep on the look out for a licensed HR driver to work full time out of Wetherill Park.

Breaking news on HVCBA industry changes

Alltruck Driver Training has been provided an additional three months extension to prepare for the major industry changes.

Major changes in HVCBA commence 27 February 2015

From 27 February 2015, all NSW heavy vehicle licence assessors will be required to record the Final Competency Assessment (FCA) component of the licensing program. The recording system features a duel channel camera that will record both inside and outside the cabin. The camera systems will also record GPS coordinates, audio (inside cabin), time and date.

500HP Mack Granite on order

We are excited to announce that we have placed an order for a brand new 2015 plated Mack Granite at 70t GCM with an MP8 SCR motor at 500hp and 1840 lb-ft, paired with an 20 series 18 speed Roadranger with a 15.5” Eaton “Solo” Clutch, with air assist. It’ll have 1000l of fuel capacity (2 x 500l) and 150l of AdBlue, all polished aluminium.

A look at the licence class Medium Rigid (MR)

A Medium Rigid (MR) vehicle is a two (2) axel vehicle with a GVM greater than 8T and can tow a trailer that must not weigh greater than 9T GVM.

Licence class focus: Heavy Combination (HC)

A Heavy Combination license, otherwise known as a HC license is the next progression from an Australian HR license.

Fridges for our fleet

With the Summer heat closing in, we have placed an order for in-cabin fridges for our trucks. By mid next week our trainers and learners will be enjoying ice-cold water and other drinks (non-alcoholic of course) while on the job.

The death of the gearstick

In recent times, I’ve been forming the view that it has become socially acceptable within the trucking world for a driver to hold a restricted licence, and consequently not be licensed to drive a constant-mesh manual transmission.

Want to learn more about vehicle components?

Whilst it’s not critical for a truck driver to know exactly how vehicle components work, it could be argued that having a greater understanding can foster more mechanically sympathetic behaviours.
